Make A Difference in the Genealogical Community – Volunteer Today!
Carroll County Genealogical Society is looking for enthusiastic individuals who want to make a positive contribution in the genealogical community. Below are the areas where we have opportunities.
Wednesday Special Collections Volunteers
Volunteer for two hours on Wednesdays as a host in our Special Collections room at the Neva Lomason Library. When patrons come to the library asking for genealogical assistance, the library staff suggests that they come on Wednesdays when the Society has volunteers on hand. Contact Carol Ferling, 770-834-6338.
Publicity: Email Blast Volunteer
CCGS sends out email blasts from time to time to let members know about upcoming webinars, activities in the Society and other events. The Email Blast Coordinator will gather copy/content, put it into an existing Mail template and send it to our list of members. If you are interested please contact Donald Levans, 770-562-1612.
Obituary Project Volunteer
West Ga University student part time employees are busy scanning obituaries dating back to the 1800’s. These files are now available for Society Volunteers to use in their homes to create an aspherical index that will be stored on our web site. This is a great opportunity for our members to make a huge contribution to future generations. Contact Sue Myers, 770-834-2274.
Do you have basic computer skills? Are you comfortable using your computer? Would you like to learn to do simple input for the CCGS website maintenance and input. The Society has a wonderful arrangement with a Website management firm. They do the hard part of maintaining the site but Volunteers have to furnish the input. For an enjoyable and invigorating experience, contact Donald Levans, 770-562-1612.
